Focus One provides a foundation for a recovery that is much broader and deeper than the addiction itself.

The focus of treatment is on a recovery from life.  It is life itself that is the primary problem which leads to the secondary problem of addiction.  All addiction – drugs, alcohol, overeating, undereating, gambling, sex, shopping, and any other addictive behavior – is just a symptom of the real problem: life

At the root of all addictive behavior is the need to feel better.   Life hasn’t taught most of us how to feel good without being dependent upon something or someone outside of ourselves to do it for us.  When we depend upon something or someone outside of ourselves to feel good, feeling better is only temporary.  As a result, we are always in need of more.

The focus of Focus One is on learning how to feel good without the addictive substance or thing.

In order to recover, one must learn how to feel good about oneself and learn how to have fun and how to socialize without being dependent upon something or someone outside of oneself to feel better.
